Installation is a straightforward process, though it can get a little messy. Don’t worry- once we’re done with the installation, we’ll clean up our mess to ensure your home is left just as we arrived. After all, we wouldn’t appreciate it if someone made a mess in our home!

Installations can range from a few hours to a multi-day project. Unfortunately, this disparity in timeline is hard to address without seeing the installation site first. Complex installations, concrete, and other obstacles can significantly and dramatically influence the time it takes to install.

If you already have a sump pump installed, we greatly prefer repairs vs. installation of a new unit. Not only is a repair typically more economical, but it prevents unnecessary waste and extends the serviceable life of your pump. This is the most environmentally-friendly approach; whenever possible, we will repair what you’ve already got!

Our team starts by diagnosing the problem with your current sump pump. Often, the problem is readily apparent. In these cases we are able to minimize costs by focusing instead on the actual repair.

Once the problem is understood, we will then present you with a written estimate that outlines the parts and labour needed to resolve the problem. With your approval we will commence with the repair.

There are two main types of sump pump: pedestal, and submersible. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, and determining which is best for you is very situational. Our experts will help determine which is best based on your needs, the installation site, and any bylaws or condo laws that may be applicable.

The last thing any homeowner wants is for their basement to flood. A neglected sump pump, unfortunately, leaves the door wide open for this disaster to occur. Basic maintenance of your pump is often the difference between a close-call and a catastrophe- we encourage you to take steps to ensure your pump is in satisfactory operational condition.

• Check the mobile switch to see if it moves freely. If not, it may get stuck and therefore unable to operate properly when needed.
• Ensure the mouth of the pump is free from clogs.
• Clean the sump pump pit well and remove any accumulated sludge (this can be a dirty job, but Mike Rowe would be proud to see it being done)

Something else to consider: if your electric pump does not have a battery back up, your sump pump may fail when you need it most. Heavy rainfall or hailstorms not only cause flooding, but power outages, too. We recommend a battery backup to ensure your pump always works when you need it to.
